Joanne Choueiri is a Lebanese architect and one of the founders of 7284 group of architects-artists. Along side her Bachelors degree which she earned from the American University of Beirut, she has minored inStudio Arts and Art History allowing her to have a multidisciplinary outlook on the design field. She likes to work with the city and envisions it as a playground where people interact with it and discover new layers binding them more and more to their environment.
Her increasing curiosity in the urban and its sociological framework, led her to work on several interventions dealing with public space. With her group, she is the recipient of the 3rd prize of the “3D mapping UFA” competition, and second prize winner of the Armenian Genocide competition in Beirut. Also, she was shortlisted and published by Domus Magazine for the BAB (Bab el Bahrein) competition in Bahrein.
After having worked in Beirut, she pursued her Master studies in Interior Architecture and Retail design at Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, giving her the opportunity to be exposed to a more specialized field of architecture. The programme allowed for the merging of several disciplines ranging from product design to interior architecture. Following Milan Design Week, where she exhibited alongside her partners “Rollware”, as part of her academic endeavor, she gained exposure and was published in several renowned magazines; Domus, Elle Deco, Vanity Fair, Vogue Casa, and Dezeen. She has graduated from MIARD with her project “Interior of Memories”, which has been exhibited and published extensively.
