Artist Navid Nuur (1976, Teheran) works and lives in The Hague. In 2004, he graduated from WdKA's Piet Zwart Institute, at the same time earning an MA Fine Arts from the University of Plymouth/UK. In 2007, Nuur's successful presentation 'THE RISE OF RE' at Stroom in The Hague, which we reported on elsewhere on this site, meant his final break through into the art world.
Earlier this year, Nuur was a participant at the Armory Show in New York. At Art Amsterdam, the major Dutch fair for contemporary art, his work is on view at the stands of Stroom The Hague (stand 117) and of van Martin van Zomeren (stand 30). Consecutively, Nuur has solo exhibitions at Buro Leeuwarden, at Galerie PlanB in Berlin, and at Martin van Zomeren. He'll also participate at the group show 'Liste 08' in Basel/Switzerland, at the Kunstverein Medienturm in Graz/Austria and at the Museum for Modern Art in Arnhem/NL.
